Abstract
A review on the relationship between XU Di-shan and the classical Chinese poetics can help us realize the complexity of the beginning of Chinese modern literature.Among the modern Chinese novelists,XU Di-shan is an unique one,who tries to return the traditional poetics by the way of artistic imagery,the fantastic plots and the classical narratives when the modern Chinese intellectuals attempt to deny the tradition of classical Chinese literature.
