On Translation Subjectivity and the Descriptive Theoretic Framework for Translation as a Communication

The study of translation subjectivity has discarded the model in which man is invisible while text takes the preeminent position,with focus laid on such items as translation subjects,subject consciousness and subjectivity.The descriptive theoretic framework for translation as a communication is a framework mainly for description of translation participants,hence the possibility for application of the framework to subjectivity research.The attempt sheds lights on our understanding that translation is a process of communication,a process of cognition,and a process of language-culture interaction and construction of recipient language-culture.In different processes,there are different subjects.The subject consciousness is realized as the writer's writing consciousness,translator's cognitive consciousness and his consciousness for manipulation of the two language cultures involved in the translation,and the reader's consciousness for the reception of translation and the relevant language culture.The study of translation subjects and that of subject consciousness constitute the study of translation subjectivity.
