Abstract

Using ecological footprint theory,Ningxia's ecological footprints in 2006 is calculated and analyzed. The results show that the average ecological footprint and the per capita available ecological capacity in 2006 were 5.69936 hm2 and 1.09989 hm2 respectively, and the ecological deficit was 4.46748hm2 in Ningxia, which imply that the present developing situation of Ningxia is unsustainable, and aim at fact of ecological deficit, bring forward the countermeasure about sustainable development.
