Abstract
The heat treatment process for a new type of Mn-Cr-Mo-Ni-Cu-RE complex low alloy wear resistant steel was studied in this paper. The solid transformation temperatures of the complex low alloy steel, such as Ac1,Ac3,Ms,and Mf,were determined according to the thermal dilation experiments. The microstructure, fracture morphology of the steel, and the effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties were studied by means of optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and transmitted electron microscopy(TEM),etc. The results show that the solid transformation temperatures of this complex low alloy steel are:Ac1 =770 ℃,Ac3 =820 ℃,Ms = 340 ℃,Mf =265 ℃.The steel is composed of bainite and martensite phases after quenched at 900 ℃ and tempered at 230 ℃.The steel has good comprehensive mechanical properties with hardness HRC 52 and impact toughness αKU=40 J·cm-2.
