Abstract
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of the determination of serum CA125 bychemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA) in ovarian cancer. Methods The serum CA125 levels of 247 patientswith ovarian tumour (63 patients with ovarian cancer, 184 patients with benign ovarian tumour) and 98healthy women as normal control were determined by CLIA. Results The level of serum CA125 in ovariancancer was 296.53?25.06U/ml, significantly higher than in benign ovarian tumour and in normal control(P0.01). The level of serum CA125 in benign ovarian tumour was significantly higher than in normalcontrol (P0.01). The positive rates of serum CA125 in ovarian cancer, benign ovarian tumour and normalcontrol were 81.0%、30.4% and 12.2%, respectively. The sensitivity, the specificity, the positivepredictive value, the negative predictive value, and the experimental validity of the determination ofserum CA125 by CLIA for the diagnosis of ovarian cancer were 81.0%、 75.9%、42.9%、94.7% and 76.8%、respectively. Conclusion The determination of serum CA125 by CLIA is of clinical importance for thediagnosis of ovarian cancer, can used as a rapid-determination item to provide a quick and trusty basisfor the diagnosis of ovarian cancer as soon as possible.
