Research on Role Expectation of College Students for Sports Teachers in the New Period

With the combination of documentary analysis,questionnaire investigation,data statistics,comparative analysis,this study conducts a investigation research in a sample of 900 college students in 6 colleges and universities in Fujian,with attention to the situation of college students' expectation for the role of P.E.teachers.The results show that the main expectation of the college students for the role of P.E.teachers can be concluded as follows: respecting one's job and loving one's position,fairness and justice,strong sense of responsibility;perfect personality;having optimistic mood,filling with enthusiasm and patience;the educational ideas must be able to stimulate students' interest,establish a perfect example,develop students' confidence and cooperation,pay more attention to health and safety;the relationship between teachers and students should be equal,democratic and harmonious;the appearance and image ought to be healthy,proper vigorous and graceful;rich knowledge of physical education,overall sports skills,comprehensive quality of advanced educational ideas;the class must have the extensive ability which can direct and organize college students to take part in the sports exercise after class;self-condition should try to turn to possess higher diploma degree.
