Transurethral vaporization and resection of the prostate for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia

Abstract

Objective To explore the effect and safety of vaporization of the Transurethral vaporization prostate (TUVP) and transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP) in the treatment of BPH.Methods 218 cases of BPH were treated by TURP and TUVP.And all data were analyzed retrospectively.Results Mean operative time was 65min(35～140min).There was no death in this group.All patients were 3 months～2 years.IPSS decreased from 24.9 to 8.0 and Qmax increased from 10.3ml/s to 19.3ml/s preoperatively.RUV everage 20ml(5～55ml).Conclusion Combined use of TUVP and TURP for the treatment of BPH is safe and efficient with low complications.And could remove hyperplastic prostatic tissue quickly.
