Transurethral resection and vaporization of prostate for the treatment of BPH patients (Report of 398 cases).

Abstract

Objective Evaluate transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP) and transurethral vaporization of the prostate ( TUVP) for treatment of Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Methods The 398 cases of patients with BPH were treated by TURP and TUVP. Results The general results were satisfactory, of the 182 patients 8 were complications in TURP, of the 216 patients 7 were complications in TUVP. Conclutions TURP and TUVP had the advantages of timesav-ing and lessbleeding . It was a safe and effective method for treatment of BPH.
