Abstract

Objective: To investigate indoor formaldehyde pollution in residential houses in Shanghai.Methods:40 households decorated from three months to two years were chosen in ten districts of Shanghai, and two monitoring sites in every household were set based on the national indoor air quality standard(GB/T18883-2002).According the methods for determination of formaldehyde in air of public places(GB/T18204.26-2000),the collection of samples was analyzed. Results:The concentrations of formaldehyde in indoor air of 13 households exceed the national standard, and the unqualified rate was 32.5%.Conclusion:The quality of indoor air in investigated household was unsatisfactory, the concentration of formaldehyde in indoor air mainly correlated with decoration materials, ventilation conditions and completed time.
