Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of Zhixiaotongmaining on the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods 120 cases of DPN were randomly divided into two groups which received oral hypoglycemic matter and insulin treatment.60 patients in treatment group were treated by Zhixiaotongmaining.60 cases in control group received Mecobalamin treatment.Patients in two groups were treated for 8 consecutive weeks. The clinical efficacy, red blood cell sorbitol content, blood glucose(FPG,2 h PG),motor nerve conduction velocity(MCV) of peroneal nerve and median nerve and sensory nerve conduction velocity(SCV) were observed and compared after treatment. Results The total effective rate in treatment group and control group were respectively 93.4% and 51.7%.There was statistical significance between two groups(P0.01).The effect in treatment group was superior to that in control group. After treatment, the erythrocyte sorbitol content in treatment group were lower as compared with that in this group before treatment and the control group after treatment(P0.01).FPG and 2 h PG after treatment were decreased in comparison with those before treatment in two groups(P0.01).After treatment, the nerve conduction velocity in treatment group were significantly increased as compared with that in this group before treatment and the control group after treatment(P0.01).Conclusion Zhixiaotongmaining can improve blood and oxygen supply of the nerve tissue, correct metabolic disorders within the nerve cells and improve the symptoms of DPN patients, has safe, effective, simple, convenient and low-cost advantages.
