Abstract
In a 2 DOF suspension model, the influence of the damping on ride comfort is studied for determining its damping ratio of a shock absorber.According to differential equations of the system,a nonlinear suspension model with zero mean white noise velocity input is established in Simulink. The numerical response matrixes of the system are obtained by recurrent simulation. The indexes are calculated and plotted for showing the influence of damping values on ride comfort during the bump stroke of the shock absorber.Thereby a suitable damping ratio is determined.
