Abstract

Objective:To evaluate effects of simvastatin for the treatment of unstable angina pectoris(UAP).Methods Sixty patients with UAP were randomly divided into control group(with conventional therapy,n=30) and simvastatin group(with conventional therapy and simvastatin 40mg before retiring,n=30),the therapeutic effects and serum lipids variation were assessed after 8 weeks. Results In simvastatin group, the levels of serum total cholesterol(TC) and lower density lipid cholesterol(LDL-C) decreased significantly,triglyc-erides(TG) decreased lightly, higher density lipid cholesterol(HDL-C) increased lightly, clinical symptom improved significantly com-pared with the control group(P﹤0.05),but there was no significant change in control group(P﹤0.05).Conclusion Simvastatin can regulate the serum lipids, the therapeutic effects are significant and improve prognosis in the treatment of UAP.
