Clinical application of sentinel lymph node biopsy in early breast cancer

Objective To explore the clinical value of methylene blue in sentinel lymph node biopsy(SLNB)in breast cancer.Methods By using methylene blue staining method,SLNB was performed on 42 patients with breast cancer,followed by the axillaries lymph node dissection(ALND).Results Sentinel lymph node(SLN)was identified in 40 patients,the successful detection rate was 95.2%(40/42),The sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,false negative and false positive rates of SLN to predict axillaries lymph node(ALN)status were 92.9%(13/14),100.0%(13/13),97.5%(39/40),7.1%(1/14)and 0,respectively.Conclusion SLNB can accurately predict the ALN status of breast cancer,which with methylene blue staining is safe and less expensive and has a higher success rate.and which has a good foreground.
