Abstract

Objective:To research the effect of bifidobacterium tetravaccine tablets combined with Sul-fasalazine on ulcerative colitis.Methods:90 patients with ulcerative colitis in our hospital from January 2003 to June 2008 were randomly divided into the experiment group and the control group.48 patients in the experiment group were treated with bifidobacterium tetravaccine tablets combined with Sulfasalazine,42 patients in control group were received only Sulfasalazine. The clinical symptom score and colon mucosa inflammation score were compared between two groups before treatment and 12 weeks after treatment.Re-sults:The improvement rates of clinical symptom in experiment group and control group were 81.2% and 52.38% respectively. And the effective rates evaluated by colon mucosa inflammation score in experiment group and control group were 75% and 52.3% respectively. Conclusion:In the treatment of ulcerative coli-tis,combination of bifidobacterium tetravaccine tablets and Sulfasalazine is more effective than Sulfasalazine.
