Analyzing Curative Effect of Combination of TCM with Western Medicine on Psoriatic Arthritis,A Report of 32 Cases

Objective:To observe the curative effect of therapy of combination of TCM with western medicine on psoriatic arthritis.Method:59 cases of sick children suffered from psoriatic arthritis were divided into two groups randomly.The treatment group was treated by TCM by stage combined with western drug combination,and the control group was treated by western drug combination.Result:In the treatment group 11 cases were cured,9 cases were excellent,8 cases were effective and 4 cases were ineffective.The total effective rate was 87.5%(95%CI=65.6%-97.8%).In the control group 2 cases were cured,6 cases were excellent,5 cases were effective and 14 cases were ineffective.The total effective rate was 48.1%(95%CI=29.3%-66.9%).The difference between the two groups was significant(u=3.253 1,P=0.001 5).Conclusion:The curative effect of combination of TCM with western medicine on psoriatic arthritis is better than that of western drug combination.OR=0.13(95%CI =0.04-0.47),NNT=3(95%CI1.35-3.54).
