Abstract
Objective To assess the therapeutic efficacy of Cefepime for lower respiratory tract infection of the aged people. Methods Fifty six patients with lower respiratory tract infection were treated with Cefepime 2 g, iv, drip, every 12 hours, for 7 to 14 days. Results The total response rate was 91.1%; cure rate was 71.4%. The bacterial eradication rate was 81.6%. The adverse reactions were rare. Conclusion Cefepime is effective and safe in the treatment of lower respiratory tract infection of the aged.
