Abstract

Objective To evaluate the correlation of microalbuminuria(MAU) with cardiovascular risks in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods On the basis of the ratio of urine albumin to criatinine(ACR),483 T2DM patients were assigned to two groups of A(248 cases,ACR30 mg/g) and B(235 cases,ACR 30-300 mg/g).Serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),glycolated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting blood glucose(FBG),postprandial blood glucose(PBG),fasting insulin(FIns) were detected and compared. Results Serum TG,TC,LDL-C,FBG,PBG and FIns were significantly higher in group B than those in group A(P0.05).The incidence rates of hypertension, coronary heart disease and atherosclerosis were higher in group B than those in group A(P0.05).BMI,SBP,TC,FBG were the independent risk factors for MAU.ConclusionT2DM patients with MAU often have obesity, hypertension, hyperglycemia, lipid disorders and increased risks for cardiovascular diseases.
