Study of System in Imperial Academy of Song Dynasty

In the history of the Song Dynasty calligraphy,a specialized agency of calligraphy has been set up named by imperial academy.It attached to academician courtyard,a place where the emperor learnt calligraphy,calligraphy activities were conducted and calligraphy talents were selected and cultivated,and may become the Royal Calligraphy Institute.The calligraphy government officials gathered there.The imperial academy was first established by Song Taizong and abolished by Song Gaozong.During the past hundred years,it has made a great contribution to the development of the Song Dynasty calligraphy,and was a great event in the calligraphy history.But afterwards it actually continuously was neglected by the Song Dynasty calligraphy researchers;therefore,this article has made the preliminary textual research from the system stratification plane to the establishment time of imperial academy,the position,vicissitude,the organization establishment,the personnel selection and the duty and so on,hoping to make a new understanding of this important calligraphy history question,and make for the disappointment of the history books.
