Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of long-acting gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues in treatment of idiopathic central precocious puberty. Methods 30 children with idiopathic central precocious puberty were selected in our hospital, they were treated with GnRH-a sustained-release preparation of triptorelin namely Tamiflu, the dosage according to the weight of children: for the weight is greater than or equal to 20 kg were administered at a dose of 3.5 mg / month, the weight is less than 20 kg were administered 1.8mg / month,6 ~ 12 months is the course of treatment.During the treatment, regular monthly observe height, weight, secondary sexual characteristics and other items with change,at the same time record any side-effects of the children. Results After treatment the velocity of body height growth decreased significantly, and the bone age index growth velocity decreased at the same time(p 0.05),with statistic significance;the breast development of girl patient have been controlled significantly, after 6 months treatment the breast development scorse obviously less than before treatment, with significant difference(p 0.05),meanwhile,their pubes development scorse, uterus development scorse and ovary development scorse all decreased obviously than before treatment, with statistic meaning(p 0.05);through treatment, the testis of boy patients stoped development, the pubes development scorse also decreased obviously than before treatment, the data have significant difference(p 0.05);after treatment patients' peak value of hormone obviously decreased comparing with those of before treatment p 0.05,otherwise,the IGF-1 and E2 level have not distinct change. Conclusion GnRH in the treatment of children with central precocious puberty can quickly achieve good clinical effect,long-term use may improve children expected height.
