Abstract
Objective To study the significance of serum N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) level for the prognosis and death risk evaluation in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI). Methods The serum NT-proBNP levels of 54 patients with AMI,30 healthy controls and the patients with AMI treated on the 3rd and 7th days were measured by bidirectional lateral flow immunoassay. The main adverse cardiovascular events(MACE) were followed up for 180 days. Results The serum NT-proBNP level in the AMI group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P0.01),the serum NT-proBNP level was positively correlated with NYHA I~IV(r=0.71,P0.01).The more severe the degree of heart function damage, the higher the serum NT-proBNP level and the rate of MACE.The rate of MACE in the NYHA Ⅲ~Ⅳ group was significantly higher than that in the NYHA Ⅰ~Ⅱ group(P0.01).Before the treatment, the serum NTproBNP level in patients of the deadly group in ≤3 d was significantly higher than those of the other groups(P0.01),and on the 3rd day after the treatment, the serum NT-proBNP level in patients of the deadly group in 4~30 d was significantly higher than those of before the treatment(P0.05),non-deadly group(P0.05) and the deadly group in 31~180 d(P0.05).On the 7th day after the treatment, the serum NT-proBNP level in patients of non-deadly group was significantly lower than those of before the treatment and the two deadly groups(P0.01). Conclusions The serum NT-proBNP is closely correlated with the severity of heart function damage, prognosis and death risk in patients with AMI.Observing the early serum NT-proBNP and the changes of serum NT-proBNP level in the course of the treatment has an important significance in the prognosis and death risk evaluation in patients with AMI.
