Abstract
Objective To compare the Levofloxacin sequential regimen and the standard triple therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication. Methods Totally 97 Helicobacter pylori-infected patients with peptic ulcer or chronic gastritis diagnosed by gastroscopy were enrolled. The patients were randomized divided as trial group(n=49) who receiving Omeperazole 20 mg q.d.plus Clarithromycin 0.5 g q.d.for the first 5 days, and followed by Omeperazole 20 mg,Amoxicillin 500 mg and Levofloxacin 300 mg,all q.d,for the last 5 days;and control group(nm=48) who receiving standard 7-day triple regimen,or Omeperazole 20 mg,Clarithromycin 500 mg and amoxicillin 1 g,all q.d.for 7 days.Helicobacter pylori status in the two groups was compared after completion of treatment. Results After treatment, the eradication rate in the trial group was 95.9 %,whole the rate in the control group was 85.4 %,with a significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion The 10-day sequential therapy comprising Levofloxacin and Omeprazole can achieve a higher eradication rate of Helicobacter pylori.
