Holmium Laser Lithotripsy under Ureteroscopy for the Treatment of Ureteral Calculi:Report of 112 Cases

Objective To investigate the clinical effect and security of ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy for the treatment of ureteral calculi.Methods 112 patients with ureteral calculi were treated by ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy.There were 32 cases with upper ureteral calculi,53 cases with middle ureteral calculi,and 27 cases with lower ureteral calculi.Results Ureteral stones were completely excreted in all of patients with middle or lower ureteral calculi.Conclusion Ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy for the treatment of ureteral calculi is effective and safe.Furthermore,no severe complications were observed.
