Abstract

Purpose:To evaluate the effectiveness and safty of ureteroscopic holmium:YAG laser lithotripsy for managing ureteral calculi. Methods:Ureteroscopic holmium:YAG laser lithotripsy was used in 56 ureteral calculi patients(proximal 9 cases, middle 11 cases, distal 36 cases). Results:The stone free rate was 89% in the proximal ureteral calculi patients,91% in the middle ureteral calculi and 92% in the distal ureteral calculi patients, respectively. The complication rate was 7%(4cases). Conclusions:Ureteroscopic holmium:YAG laser lithotripsy is a highly effective and safe method for managing ureteral calculi.
