Abstract

Objective To investigate the CT features of patients with rectal cancer and to evaluate the significance of inflatable rectal CT in the diagnosis and clinical staging of rectal cancer. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed based on the CT features of 86 patients with rectal cancer treated at our hospital between February 2009 and April 2012,and then we evaluated the significance of inflatable rectal CT in the diagnosis and clinical staging of rec tal cancer. Results The diagnosing accuracy of the rectal cancer by CT scanning was 100%.The overall accuracy rate of rectal cancer TNM staging was 84.88%(73/86).The accuracy of T,N and M was 89.53%(77/86),87.21%(75/86) and 96.51%(83/86) respectively. Conclusion CT scanning is very useful for detecting rectal cancer, and has a higher consistency with TNM staging. It is an important method for the diagnosis of rectal cancer.
