Abstract

The aim of the research is to study effects of Yin-enriching,Qi-boosting and Blood-quickening compound formula(YQBCF) on glycometabolism in diabetic rats induced by STZ.45 mg/kg STZ was injected through caudal vein to establish diabetic Ⅱ rat models, and the rats were randomly divided into YQBCF treatment group(n=15),model control group(n=15),and normal control group(n=20).The rats in treatment group was given YQBCF water solution[10 mL/(kg·d)] by stomach perfusion, the rats in model control group and normal control group were given the same amount of distilled water. The perfusion period is 56 days. After 14,28,42,56 days, the blood was taken in every rat through orbital venous plexus, and the serum was separated to measure glucose(GLU).On the 56th day,the glycosylated serum protein(GSP) was examined, then the rats were killed and the liver glycogen was examined. The body weight of rats in YQBCF treatment group raised during the trial period compared with that in the model control group. The levels of glucose(GLU),liver glycogen and glycosylated serum protein(GSP)showed an improving tendency in YQBCF treatment group. On the 56th day, glucose and GSP in rats of YQBCF treatment group decreased significantly compared with that of the model control group(P0.01),which was near the normal levels.Liver glycogen in rats of YQBCF treatment group significantly increased(P0.01) compared with that of the model control group. The data demonstrated that YQBCF can obviously improve glycometabolism and the symptoms in diabetic rats, which will provide the value for the clinical treatment of diabetes with Chinese traditional medicine.
