Abstract

Soviet Union used to closely follow, and frequently comment on,the changes in China by the 3rd plenum of the 11th of CPC around 1981.There are more criticisms than objective evaluations in the first.Four aspects are involved of historical status of Mao Zedong thought, social nature of the People's Republic of China, domestic policies and foreign strategies. It is generally believed that China slides to rightism from leftism by imperialist alliance and pragmatism. It is mistakenly foreseen that only Soviet Union knows the basic law of socialism,Chinese socialism with special characteristics is beyond recognition,Chinese reforms are doomed to fail, and Soviet Union refuses to learn from Chinese experience.Soviet Union has died, but Chinese reform is at prime.
