Restrictive Factors to the Growth of Consumption Demand of Rural Residents: Analysis and Countermeasures

Among other things, the restrictive factors to the growth of the consumption demand of rural residents can be summed up as the two major ones: 1) rural residents' low income and slow income growth; 2) weak marginal consumption tendency. The measures to enhance their consumption demand include making effort to increase rural residents' income on one hand, and on the other hand narrowing the income gap among rural residents, changing their concept and mode of consumption, increasing the effective supply of consumer goods, establishing rural social security system and improving the consumption environment for rural residents.
