Abstract
In the present paper, two new species of the genus Plagiomerus Crawford from China are reported. All the type specimens are kept in the Collections of Natural Enemies of Pests,Hubei University. 1 Plagiomerus aulacaspis sp.nov. (Figs.1 3) Female.Length about 1 2mm. Antennae dominantly brown yellow, last funicle segment yellowish white, base of the pedicle and the club darkish brown and paler progressively.the trochanter and base half of mid femur light yellowish white.Mid tibiae with black ring and the hind tibiae blackish in the middle.Wings hyaline.Head width about three times as frontovertex, antenna as Fig.1 Mesoscutum small densely punctuated, and the scutellum reticulated with two pair long setae, polished laterally and apically. The shape of forewing and the location of weins as Fig. and the venation as Fig.3,setae at the base dense. A bdomen as long as head and thorax combined, with gonostyli protruding after body nearly a forth of gaster.Gonostylus length about half of the mid tibia with spur a little shorter than basitarsus. This new species is colsely related to Plagiomerus derceto (Trjapitain),but can be distinguished from the latter by the coloration of the mid tibiae and hind tibiae, the number of setae on scutellum and puncturation on mesoscutum, and the measurement of ovipositor extruded after abdomen. Holotype ♀,July 27,1988,Yongshan County,Yunnan,China;paratype 1♀,Nov.,1988,same area as holotype. Host Aulacaspis citri Chen. 2 Plagiomerus magniclavus sp.nov. (Figs.4 6) Famale.Length 0 87mm. Mesoscutum reticulated,Shining bluish green, scutellum largely darkish black with two pair scales at apex (posterior pair longer, more flattened),small densely punctuated.Legs closely similar to Plagiomerus diaspidis Crawford but fore tibiae yellowish white.Head width about 3 5 times as frontovertex, antenna as Fig.4,The shape of forewing and location of veins as Fig.5,and venation as Fig.6,setae on the base more sparse.Abdomen about as long as thorax, with gonostyli exserted after gaster about a fifth of midtibiae.Gonostylus length about a third of the mid tibia, with spur a little longer than the basitarsus. The new species is allied to Plagiomerus diaspidis Crawford, but can be easily distinguished from the latter by the coloration of mesonotum, the venation and the antenna. Holotype ♀,Oct.30,188,Binchuan County (25 8°N,100 5°E),Yunnan,China,rearing from armoured scales on citrus.
