Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the experience of microsurgery for intracranial large meningiomas.Methods:20 cases were analyzed respectively,of which there were 7 parasagittal and parafalx meningioma patients,4 convexity meningioma patients,4 middle fossa meningioma patients,3 sphenoid wing meningioma patients,2 posterior fossa meningioma patients.Results:Of all the 20 patients,17 had total resection of tumor,3 had subtotal resection of tumor.No post-operative death or serious complications occurred.After the operation,all the patients achieved an improvement in clinical symptom.During the follow-up period 2 years,the tumor recurred in 1 patient.Conclusion:Total resection can be achieved in most patiens with microneurosurgical technique.Proper choice of operative approaches may raise the total removal rate and lower the operative mortality.
