Microsurgical treatment experience of 65 case of falx meningiomas

Objective To discuss the diagnosis and microsurgical treatment of 65 cases with falx meningioma. Methods The clinical and preoperative imaging characters, operative method and result of operation were respectively discussed. Results Total resection of the flax meningioma was achieved in 62 patients, subtotal resection in 3 cases, without death. 15 patients had temporary hemiplegia after surgery, but were recovered at discharge. There was no recurrence for followed-up of average 40 months. Conclusion The falx meningiomas can be totally resected and the postoperative morbidity of patients can be greatly reduced with microsurgery.
