Application of tension-free hernioplasty in the treatment of recurrent inguinal hernia (Analysis of 16 cases)

Abstract
Objective To investigate the application of tension-free hernioplasty in the treatment of recurrent inguinal hernia. Methods From January 2002 to January 2005,16 cases with recurrent inguinal hernia received were analyzed retrospectively. Results Average operation time was 55 min.Average hospitalization time was 5 days. After operation, one case had scrotal hydropsy and one case had incisional fatliquefaction. No other complications were happened. There was no recurrence during 12～36 months follow-up period. Conclusion Tension-free hernioplasty is effective,safe with less complication and recurrence, which makes it an ideal operative method for the treatrnent of recurrent inguinal hernia.
