Abstract

Objective To observe the disinfection-related properties of binary solid chlorine dioxide disinfectant. Methods Suspension quantitative germicidal test and on-thespot trial method were used to carry out examination. Results The chlorine dioxide content of the binary solid chlorine dioxide preparation after activation was 9206 mg/L.The average killing logarithm values of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus in suspension exposed to the disinfectant solution containing chlorine dioxide 300 mg/L for 2.5 min were 5.00.The average killing logarithm value of Bacillus subtilis var.niger spores in suspension exposed to the disinfectant solution containing chlorine dioxide 1000 mg/L for 10 min was 5.0.Spraying the disinfectant solution containing chlorine dioxide 500 mg/L on the table surface to moistening with a contact time of 10 min killed the natural bacteria on the surface by a logarithm value 1.0 in average.Aerosol spraying disinfection with the disinfectant solution containing chlorine dioxide 100 mg/L for 30 min caused 96.13% decay rate in average of the natural bacteria in indoor air. Conclusions The chlorine dioxide disinfectant has relatively strong killing effect on vegetative forms of bacteria and bacterial spores. Its efficacy in killing natural bacteria on on-the-spot surfaces and in indoor air fulfils eligible requirement.
