STUDY ON GERMICIDAL EFFICACY OF A STABLE CHLORINE DIOXIDE DISINFECTANT

Abstract

Objective To observe the germicidal efficacy of a stable chlorine dioxide disinfectant.Methods Suspension quantitative germicidal test and field disinfection trial were used to carry out experimental observation.Results The killing logarithm values of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli exposed to the solution containing chlorine dioxide 19.7 mg/L for 10 min were 5.00;the killing logarithm values of Bacillus subtilis var.niger spores exposed to the solution containing chlorine dioxide 65.7 mg/L for 45 min were 5.00.In field trial,the killing logarithm value of nature bacteria on the surface of objects wiped with the disinfection solution containing chlorine dioxide 39.4 mg/L for 10 min was 1.00;that of E.coli on the surface of cuke was 3.00.Conclusion The stable chlorine dioxide disinfectant has good germicidal efficacy on bacteria vegetative and bacteria spores.The field disinfection effect can also meet the requirement.
