Abstract

The ecological adaptability, physical chemical characteristics of fruits, habit of flowering and fruiting and phenological phase etc.of wild plum grown in Libo,Guizhou province were observed. The results showed that the wild plum are adaptable to the Carst mountainous area because of its drought and barren resistance. In whole wild plum population, fruit characteristics varied greatly and average fruit weight ranges between 10 4g and 28g,the minimum rate of edible fruit part is 77 74% and the maximum is 88 20%,complete flower rate varies from 58% to 8 8%.Both short and needle like fruit branches are the main fruiting branch which account for 80% of the total, even reaches to 99% for the highest one.The stage of flower is from late December to early January next year and mature from late April to early May.
