On the coordinative mechanism of regional planning in Germany

This paper is believed that regional planning and management is the key of regional cooperation and integration.In order to benefit from other country's experiences,the concept on German regional planning is depicted in this paper.The coordination mechanism is analyzed from the points of view of legalization of planning procedure,relationship between professional department and local government,and organization structure of regional planning.It is summarized as experiences on the entity of regional planning organization,coordinating all plans with laws and regulations,attaching importance to the coordination of planning process,the compatibility and the continuity of planning and so on.For the reason that illustrating the implementation effects of German regional planning,this paper finally introduces a case of Stuttgart of Germany,which resolves by regional planning the urban unordered development and the uneconomic utilization of land.
