Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of c-erbB2,ERK1 and ERK2 in breast diseases. Methods The expression of c-erbB2,ERK1 and ERK2 in breast diseases and the relationship among them were detected by the technique of tissue chip and immunohistochemical staining(S-P method) in breast fibroadenoma, adenosis, papilloma in duct and invasive ductal carcinoma. Results The positive ERK1and ERK2 expression rates increased in adenosis and invasive ductal carcinoma, the difference was significant when fibroadenoma was compared with adenosis and carcinoma(P 0.05).The positive cerbB2 expression rates in fibroadenoma and adenosis were increased and there were significant differences when fibroadenoma and adenosis were compared with papilloma in duct and carcinoma(P 0.05).There was a positive correlation between the expression of ERK1 and ERK2.Conclusion The high expression rates of ERK1 and ERK2 were associated with genesis and progression of adenosis. The positive expression rate of c-erbB2 in papilloma in duct was low.The high positive expression rates of ERK1,ERK2 and low positive expression rate of c-erbB2 were significantly associated with carcinoma. The three proteins would supply the valuable markers for evaluating the progression and outcome of adenosis and papilloma in duct, and also for directing the therapy of invasive ductal carcinoma.
