Abstract
Translation of public signs is a new area in translation study.Under the present globalization trend,the translation of public signs is becoming more and more important.After introducing the concept and application of public signs and the relevant translation theories such as functional equivalence,the paper emphasizes two important practical guiding principals on public sign translation: translation research and research on English public signs.
