Abstract

Objective To study the effect on sedation, respiration and circulation of propofol and midazolam used by three different ways in fibrogastroscopy. Methods Thirty patients undergoing gastroscopy were randomly divided into three groups: group A(propofol group),group B(midazolam group)and group C(propofol+ midazolam group).Heart rate(HR),mean arterial pressure(MAP) grade of sedation, time for recovery of consciousness, discomfort, amnesia and self-felling were recorded. Results MAP and SpO_2 were significantly lower in group A than those in both group B and C(P0.05).MAP was significantly lower in group C than that in group B(P0.05).Grade of sedation, time for recovery of consciousness, amnesia, discomfort and self-felling were all well in both group A and group C,and both were better than in group B((P)0.05).Conclusion Propofol and midazolam are safe and effective in gastroscopy.
