Abstract

A method for the determination of organic selenium and total selenium in selenium-enriched farm products by sequence injection hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry(SI-HG-AFS) was developed. The separation and extraction of organic Se and inorganic Se in Se-rich farm produce were studied. The effects of experimental conditions on the Se fluorescence intensity, such as the concentration of KBH4,acidity and carrier gas flow on sensitivity were investigated and optimized.Under the optimal work condition, the detection limit of selenium by this method was 0.026 ng/ml,the linear range 0 ~100 ng/ml,the relative standard derivation 0.58%.The total selenium content of 43.8~684.2 ng/g and the organic selenium content of 30.6~509.8 ng/g were detected respectively from the selenium-enriched farm products by this method with the recovery rate of 91.5% ~104.5% for inorganic selenium. This method was proved to be simple, rapid, sensitive accurate and repeatable. So it was suitable to the determination of organic and total selenium in selenium-enriched farm products.
