Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of clinical nursing path on prevention of nosocomial infections in patients undergoing hemodialysis.METHODS A total of 78hospitalized patients who underwent the hemodialysis from Jan 2012to Jun 2012were enrolled in the study and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group, with 39cases in each, then the control group was treated with routine nursing mode, the experimental group was treated with the clinical nursing path for control of nosocomial infections, the incidence of infections, awareness of knowledge of control of nosocomial infections, and satisfaction with nursing were observed and compared between the two groups.RESULTS The nosocomial infections occurred in 1of 39patients in the experimental group with the infection rate of 2.6%and in 5of 39patients in the control group with the infection rate of 12.8%,the difference between the two groups was significant(P0.05).The score of awareness of knowledge about control of nosocomial infections was(28.97±5.33)points in the experimental group, significantly higher than(21.79±8.99)points in the control group;the score of satisfaction with the nursing was(19.10±2.69) points in the experimental group, significantly higher than(13.85±7.45)points in the control group, the differences between the two groups were significant(P0.05).CONCLUSION The implementation of clinical nursing path can reduce the incidence of nosocomial infections and improve the patients′satisfaction with the nursing as well as the awareness of control of infections.
