INVESTIGATION ON CURRENT STATUS OF AIDS INFECTION AND AIDS RELATED KNOWLEDGE AMONG OUT-MIGRANT WORKERS IN DONGYANG

[Objective] To understand the current status of HIV infection and AIDS related knowledge among out-mi-grant workers in Dongyang,so as to provide the evidence for developing measures of AIDS prevention and control.[Methods] Stratified-clustered-random sampling method was used to recruit 620 out-migrant workers who came back during spring festival,and they were required to provide blood to test HIV antibody.What' s more,face-to-face questionnaire investigation was per-formed among them.[Results] No HIV positive antibody was found in 620 blood samples.The average knowing rate about AIDS was 66.06%.The AIDS related knowledge mainly came from TV(69.09%),newspaper and periodicals(36.03%).Only nearly half of them would like to insist on using condom in sex.[Conclusion] It revealed that there existed misunderstandings about AIDS.Based on the characteristics of out-migrant workers,we should adopt some directly and acceptable health education measures for these workers,in order to increase the AIDS awareness,and further generalize the use of condom in sexual inter-course.
