Abstract
Zhongjiuyou 801 is a new indica hybrid rice combination for late cropping season developed from the CMS line Zhongjiu A and a new restorer line R801 with fine grain quality, strong disease resistance and high combining ability by the College of Agronomy of Jiangxi Agricultural University. It has the characteristics of strong grain yield heterosis, fine grain quality, strong blast resistance, strong ratooning ability, high seed production yield potential and wide adaptability. It was registered and released by the Crops Variety Appraisal Committee of Jiangxi Province in March, 2003. The breeding procedure of the hybrid and its characteristics, the major cultivation and seed production techniques were introduced in this paper.
