Abstract
Feiyou 600 is a new indica hybrid rice combination developed from the CMS line Feigai A and a new restorer line R600 with strong disease resistance and good combining ability by China National Rice Research Institute and the Neijiang Hybrid Rice Science and Technology Development Center. It has the characteristics of strong grain yield heterosis, strong blast resistance, high seed production yield potential and wide adaptability. It was registered and released by the Crops Variety Appraisal Committee of Zhejiang in May 2004. The breeding procedure, characteristics and major cultivation and seed production techniques were introduced in this paper.
