Abstract

Sanxiangyou516 is a new indica three-line hybrid rice combination which was developed from the three-line Sanxiang A and a new restorer line R516 with good quality and high combining ability by rice research Institute of Hunan Agricultural University.It has the characteristics of strong grain yield heterosis,fine grain quality,strong ratooning ablility,wide adaptability.It was registered and released by the crops variety appraisal Committee of Hunan province in February,2005.The breeding procedure of the hybrid and its characteristics,the major cultivation techniques were introduced in this paper.
