Application of mapgis in geological mapping

Abstract

The Characteristic and superiority of Geographical Information System(GIS) in geological information management are introduced. Meanwhile, the data structure of domestic software, MAPGIS is discussed. The basic method and step of the geological map-making under MAPGIS are elaborated. By the application in Tongchuan Coal-mine Bureau, Shaanxi Province, it is proved that the system is feasible, and its effect is obvious.
