Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of CT in diagnosis of bone and joint trauma. Methods Thirty seven cases of fracture misdiagnosed by radiography and corrected by CT images were analyzed retrospectively. The fracture occurred in the hip joint(5 cases),the wrist(2 cases),knee joint(5 cases),temporomandibular joint(1 case),the os nasale(6 cases),the orbit(8 cases)respectively. Results Fractures were demonstrated definitely with CT transaxial imaging in all patients. Conclusion CT images can afford very valuable information about the bone and joint trauma,CT should be the next choice when plain films fail to reveal suspected fracture in the setting of suggestive symptoms and positive physical examination.
