Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the characteristics of adverse drug reactions(ADRs) and the quality of the ADR reporting so as to promote clinical rational use of drugs.METHODS: A total of 165 ADR cases collected in Wuhan Dongxihu District People's Hospital during the Jan.-Dec.period of 2012 were analyzed retrospectively.RESULTS: Of the total 165 cases,anti-infective drugs-induced ADR cases took the lead with 38.69%(65/168) followed by Chinese patent medicine-induced ADR cases [19.64%(33/168)].The ADRs manifested mostly as damage of skin and appendants [41.62%(82/197)].In terms of ADR incidence,Shenfu Injection took the lead followed by misoprostol tablets.Of the total 165 ADR cases,6 were serious ADR cases. The rate of ADR reporting in our hospital was low and some ADRs were failed to be reported. There were less new or serious ADR cases.CONCLUSION: Great importance should be attached to ADR monitoring and reporting and publicizing to achieve rational use of drugs and reduce or avoid occurrence of adverse drug reactions.
