The expression and clinical significance of EGFR,VEGF and NET-1 in lung cancer

Abstract

Objective To explore the expression and significance of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and NET-1 in lung cancer.Methods SP immunohistochemical staining was used to examine the expressions of EGFR,VEGF and NET-1 in 120 human lung cancer specimens and 10 normal lung tissues.Results The positive rates of EGFR,VEGF and NET-1 in lung cancer(69.16%,55.83% and 85.00% respectively) were significantly higher than those in the normal tissue(10.00%,0.00% and 40% respectively).EGFR,VEGF and NET-1 expressions were not correlated with age,sex and tumor position(P0.05);but related to differential,clinical stage and lymph nodes metastasis of tumors(P0.05).Conclusion The expressions of EGFR,VEGF and NET-1 are positively related to the lung cancers′differential,clinical stage and lymph nodes metastasis.The levels of their expressions in lung cancer tissues are higher than in normal lung tissues.These mean that they can promote the tumor cells′transformation,multiple and moving,and may be an useful tool for providing information about the malignant degree and prognosis.
