Abstract

OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of Ginkgodamole injection(GDI) on blood sugar, urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER),hemorrheologic indexes and oxidative stress in patients with early diabetic nephropathy.METHODS 60 cases with diabetic nephropathy whose value of UAER is 30~300mg/24h were randomly divided into two groups. The 28 patients in the control group were treated by routine method including decreasing blood sugar, controlling blood pressure and adjusting fat profiles. The 32 patients in the treated group were treated with GDI 20 ml per day by intravenous dripping, with 2 weeks as one therapeutic course. The blood sugar, kidney function,UAER,hemorrheologic indexes(whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, fibrinogen),superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA) and nitrogen monoxide(NO) in the two groups were observed and compared.RESULTS After treatment,UAER and hemorrheologic indexes were obviously improved, serum levels of SOD and NO were significantly elevated, and serum levels of MDA were significantly reduced in the treated group(P0.01).However,those in the control group were little changed.Comparison between two groups show significant difference(P0.01).CONCLUSION GDI has protective function on diabetic nephropathy by expanding blood vessel,anti-coagulating,anti-oxidating and dredging microcirculation.
