Empirical Research on Innovation Ability of Hefei City

From the perspectives of environment supporting ability,innovation investment ability,innovation output ability and innovation cooperation ability,20 typical evaluation indexes are selected to constitute the index system.First,using Q-type cluster analysis,six national innovation-oriented cities including Hefei,Beijing,Shanghai,Nanjing,Wuhan and Qingdao are categorized into four groups.Then,in view of the innovation process and innovation factors,the six cities are sorted by the scores of innovation ability using the principal components analysis.Finally,on the basis of the empirical analysis,some measures to enhance the innovation ability of Hefei City are put forward,including improving the industrial structure,establishing the innovation platform,strengthening the industry-university collaboration and promoting the institutional mechanism construction and so on.
